Start a game

Pick a game type. The Hivecoding CLI makes your game from it on your computer, with its server, saving and phone controls already working, and your AI coding tool builds the rest from your description.

Battler

Two players per match in their own room. The server decides every hit and every result.

Multiplayer: rooms of 2 to 8 players. Hosting it takes the Plus plan ($10 a month).

1
Make it
Asks for a name and an address on hivecoding.io, then sets up the game in a new folder and installs it.
```
$ npx hivecoding new --type battler
```
2
Build it with your AI
Open the folder in Claude Code or another AI coding tool and describe your game. Its AGENTS.md explains the engine, the server, the checks and the recipes, so your AI knows how this game works.
```
$ cd your-game$ claude
```
3
Play it as you go
Runs the game and its server on your computer.
```
$ npx hc dev
```
4
Publish it
Runs the game's checks, then puts it online at hivecoding.io with its own page and server. Publish again any time to send a new version.
```
$ npx hivecoding check$ npx hivecoding publish
```
